| The recruits, minus Bottle Rock, drop into formation.
Bottle simply looked at the changelings in bemusement. "Whats with the royal welcome?"
"ROCKET! THRILL! GET BACK HERE!" Rock roared.
Bottle Rocket rolled his eyes. "If they where here to fight, I doubt they would have come in a fancy carriage, right in the middle of a pony train station." Bottle Rocket glared the general. "They want something from us."

| "link discerpo" the armored changling said causing a green dome to incase the immediate area. the three drones by the carriage to lay down "now we can speak freely, my queen is in danger the message you received was fake, the hive mind has been infiltrated." his voice taking a serious tone but his eye, although naught but solid hexagons of green, and body language carry a sense of urgency "you were being lured into a trap, but my Queen, being the brilliant tactician she is, was able to send me to warn you"

| "And how do we know that THIS is not a trap?" Rock snarled, looking around at the doom of green magic. "You already have us at a disadvantage and now you want us to go willingly to your hive, guarded by your soldiers , on what? Your word? The visions your queen has been sending to our partner? How do we know thous visions where not just part of your little trap?"
Bottle Rocket looked form Rock to the Changelings. "Maybe we should talk about this somewhere other then a crowed train station, next to a train full of ponies? This line runs through Canterlot and Ponyville, so where already going to be starting all kinda of rumors about the guard cutting deals with Changelings if we go with them and if its a trap and we need to fight are way out, then innocents are going to get hurt."

Leading Edge asks looking over his shoulder at the Changeling that are lying down and begins to laugh "these are not guards, they are mindless drones, carriage drones at that without the hivemind the most they can do is breath. they couldn't fight you even if they were order to, there propose from birth was to pull the carriage and the only magic they know is a collaborative shield spell to protect those within the carriage"
without the hivemind? Weaver thought but how, Thrill was connected as soon as we entered the Badlands then it clicked the dome! her eye widen as she remembers what Zack said about this spell
"Link discerpo or Link sever is a low grade magic that was made to combat changling Trance spells. it cuts any form of magic links such as the one that our opponent was using to try and mess with Rocket's mind"

| "So you are on your own then?" Rock snorts. "Well all the more reason to restrain you and NOT go back to where your hive CAN reconnect thous drones."
"And what if by doing that we burned bridges with the only help we are going to get out here against the murders we are here to deal with?" Spell Weave pointed to the changelings. "The enemy of our enemy is our friend."
"Unless we are the enemy who they are enemies with, with the other enemies so that they are friends!" Fever Pitch interjected urgently.
The train began to roll out of the station.
Bottle Rocket looked from the changelings to his friends. "What if we ride in the back with there leader and if they betray us, we can just kill him first, then bust are way out? I kinda doubt that a hive of changelings are going to be a whole lot more dangerous then that hoard of zombies and that was back when we had just come out of training and before we had Night Blade or Thrill on our side."
There was a brief silence as the others thought about it.
"Sure, that works." Spell Weaver nodded.
"Fine, but I don't like it." Rock grumbled.

| Edge raises a brow "and I thought we where paranoid" he said shaking his head "look I know that Pony - Changeling relations are a little low..." his fades noticing the six raised brows "ok theres no such thing, but I implore you the hive is dying."
"of course it's dying, you've got a homicidal pyromanic about to kill your Queen" Rock cut in
"we were dying well before him" Edge said with a hint of sadness causing the party's eyes to widen as his found the ground "ever since the wedding debacle its becoming harder and harder to stay hidden and gather ambient emotions." his sadness turns to resolute determination "I was the first to suggest we form a treaty with the Ponies but most of the Hive including the Queen is still scared." his eyes widen with worry "What am I doing, we need to get the Hive now"

| "Fine, just get in the back with us and we will go with you!" Bottle shouts. "Sweet Celestia, we already said we where going, you did't have to tell us your life story!"
The ponies escort the changeling into the carriage.
Rock glares at the changeling general as they settle in. "If you wanted to sign a treaty with us then you should have done it before invading our capital, imprisoning our royalty, attacking our monarch, hunting our citizens through the streets and that's not even counting the attack on Ponyville. I would say that any hope for peaceful relationships died awhile ago. We have a common enemy, nothing more."

| Edge laughs halfheartedly as he cancels the spell and the carriage takes off. "yea even the tacticians make bad moves" he sighs and puts his head down "I want so much to tell your Princesses that the Canterlot invasion was my doing bu-" he stopped suddenly pulling his head up, he had a confused look "what do you mean 'attack on Ponyville' I've no recollection of anything of the sort."

| "The invasion was YOUR CALL!" Rock shouts.
The others quickly grabbed the large earth pony as he tried to rise from his seat. "All that destruction and you think you can just wash that away with an apology? I'LL DRAG YOU BACK TO THE PRINCESS IN CHAINS!" The others pulled him back as Rock continued to rage. "LET GO OF ME!"

| "Rock calm down, he stopped mid sentence. He was going to say 'but it was our Queen's plan one born of desperation' right?" Thrill said with a serious tone
Edge's head hung low "yes, but I'd gladly take the blame if it would give my race a chance at survival" he shot back with a look of resolute determination
"sorry not why we're here, but if everything goes well I'll put a request for peace talks but I can't guarantee anything I'm just a 1st lieutenant after all." Night said, her voice overflowing with sympathy
"Thank you that's all I ask. we're almost there remember he knows your coming but so do you"

| Fever Pitch stepped away from Rock as the earth pony took a few deep calming breaths. Finale the officer turned to his companions and stated, "There right. We need to take advantage of the fact that we know where he is, while keeping in mind that he knows about us. While I can't forgive Chrysalis's actions in the invasion of Canterlot* or at the battle of Ponyville** I can put my personal feelings aside for now."
Spell Weaver shoot Bottle Rocket a dirty look.
"What? I haven't said anything!" Bottle snapped, though his cheeks brightened slightly.
"If he knows we are coming then we will need to use that to our advantage. If we all brake off to try and get the jump on him he will notice it, but if only Rocket and Fever leave while the rest of us confront him head on, it might give us the edge we need." Rock pointed to the two winged ponies. "Do you two think your up for a stealth mission?"
The two nodded in agreement and Rock smiled. "Good, lets see how all powerful this monster really is..."

| {sorry never read any of the comics but I've been meaning to since Nightmare Rarity showed up}
It wasn't long before they found them self in a large open room, ornate in contrast to the rest of the structure. The stone wall were smooth with columns at every five meters and a long green carpet in the middle leading to a large crystal throne with a large very weak looking changeling leaning on it's arm. Rock began to look around unable to find the Shadow "I knew you couldn't be-" he started but was cut off
"look out" the large changeling yelled as a massive fireball bore down on them from above luckily a tri-colored barrier of blue, green, and red saved them just in time.
"now Cryssie, why'd you have to ruin the surprise" said a deep red pegasus stallion with a dejected tone "oh well, your loss 'Abyssus incendia' " he finshed causing another large fireball to fly at Crysalis
"my Queen!" Edge yelled as he flew into the path of the fireball rocking the area with a decent explosion causing him to land just in front of Crysalis, burnt to a crisp but still alive "are you ok my Queen?" he choked out before being pulled shakily by her weak magic into her forelimbs
the pegasus chuckles landing before the group "oh well, not what I expected but at least it keep them out of the way" he said turning around bowing, his bright almost glowing yellow mane and tail flowing upward as if were made fire "my name is Exuro Pennae" he stated standing to look the group in eyes with his piercing red eye making his manic grin even more sinister "and my the Shadow of F- hold up, one, two, three, fo- four, where's the other two?"

| "Our companions have pressing business to attend to and command did not see any reason to have them wast there time on somepony like you." Rock braced himself for the fight.
Spell Weaver did not speak, her consideration fully absorbed by the task of preparing a series of exstramly thick shields.
High above Bottle Rocket and Fever Pitch prepared explosive charges along the roof of the main hall.

| "you ponies must not be very bright" Exuro snickered "your dealing with the Shadow of Fire, I'll turn you all to ash" he yelled as flame wrapped around both his forehooves.

Exuro lunged forward striking out at Rock who just barely got his sword out in time to glance the blow but Exuro's body began to glow, causing Rock eyes to widen "Flash Incinarte" the glow intensified till it became an orb of red at least ten hooves across. Luckily Night got Rock out just in time, but just barely Rock had a burn on the side of his face "man won't you hold still so I can feel your flesh sizzle beneath my hooves?" the glow in Exuro's eyes got brighter

| Spell Weaver hammered the other pony with magical shields. They needed time to let the demolition team to do there thing, but at the same time if she was forced to help the others to much, she would not have time to prepare a shield for when the ceiling fell they would all be in trouble...
